Readings
SOUTH 44
On Thursday 20th October we held a reading to launch the latest SOUTH 44.
We thank Joan McGavin and the University of Winchester very much for providing such a good space for the event.
This was a lovely evening - a wide range of poetry was read by old friends and by several poets reading for the first time at a SOUTH launch.
There was the usual buzz in the interval, as people renewed membership, bought back issues, caught up with friends and met new people.
We were very pleased that our profiled poet - A F Paterson - came all the way from Cumbria for the launch. You can hear her reading by clicking the following link.

A first time visitor commented:
".. thank you to all the members of the South team for a most enjoyable evening at the launch of South 44 on Thursday. We judged the whole trip to be a great success, from the warm welcome we received and the high standard at the reading itself to our exploration of Winchester the following morning, when we discovered the beautiful Antony Gormley statue featuring on the front cover of South 44."
PREVIOUS READINGS by profiled poets can be found on the Links page.
